The content is the same, but the learning experience is different.
The AI x Design Thinking certificate program combines content from three IDEO U courses (Insights for Innovation, From Ideas to Action, and the AI x Design Thinking Workshop) into one cohort on an accelerated timeline (9 weeks).
The Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate program includes two of those courses (Insights for Innovation and From Ideas to Action), but you will take those courses separately with two different cohorts across 10 weeks. Add on the AI x Design Thinking Workshop or self-paced course (4 weeks each) to cover the same material over 14 weeks. If you take all three courses in the AI x Design Thinking certificate program you will earn the AI x Design Thinking Certificate.
The certificate program will take 8 weeks to complete.
There are no prerequisites for taking the AI x Design Thinking certificate program. To practice the AI techniques in this program, you will need to create accounts on the relevant AI platforms. Instructions will be provided at the beginning of the certificate program.
This program is best for beginners and those new to the concepts of design thinking and generative AI. This program is for you if you value human-centered design and want to gain comfort and confidence using AI in your day-to-day work.
Common roles of people who enroll in the included courses are product managers, educators, innovation managers, consultants, facilitators, designers, entrepreneurs, human resources, customer experience, leadership, and strategy.
If you’ve completed any of the three courses that are included in this program (Insights for Innovation, From Ideas to Action, or the AI x Design Thinking workshop), you should take the remaining courses individually to earn the AI x Design Thinking Certificate.
The AI x Design Thinking certificate program combines content from three courses (Insights for Innovation, From Ideas to Action, and AI x Design Thinking workshop) into a single-cohort accelerated learning experience. Completing this eight-week experience will earn you the IDEO U AI x Design Thinking Certificate.
As a limited-time offering, there is only one course run available at the moment for the AI x Design Thinking certificate program. Due to its design, it is not possible to transfer into the individual courses that make up the certificate program content.
The IDEO U AI x Design Thinking Certificate program integrates the content from all three courses into a single eight-week learning experience. Due to its design, it is not recommended to take the certificate program if you’ve already completed one or more of the courses that make up the AI x Design Thinking Certificate program. We recommend that you continue to take the remaining courses as single cohort courses to complete the certificate requirements.
